Panel of Expert Women for the Ask-A-Woman Tele-Class

Meet the women who will expertly attend to your querries:

February 2009

Candida Royalle

Candida Royalle first came in to the public eye for her internationally
acclaimed line of erotic films from a woman's perspective. Innovating
the concept of "couples erotica", she created Femme Productions, Inc. in 1984 in order to produce adult films that spoke from a woman's voice and could be entertaining while promoting positive sexual role modeling for couples to view together.

Author of, "How to Tell a Naked Man What to Do," Candida is also a sought-after speaker, having lectured at such venues as the Smithsonian Institute, the American Psychiatric Association's national conference, and the World Congress on Sexology, as well as several sexuality conferences and universities including Princeton, Columbia, Wellesley College and New York University. She is the first erotic filmmaker to have been invited to become a member of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists due to the message of "positive sexuality" in her films.

Continuing to lead the way in women's sexual empowerment and pleasure, Royalle partnered with Dutch industrial designer Jandirk Groet and together they created the Natural Contours line of high-style, discreet ergonomically designed personal massagers. Drugstore.com launched its sexual wellness range with the Natural Contours line and Holland's leading drug store chain, ETOS, features the line as part of its family planning outreach.

Royalle recently created a new line of "ethnic erotica for couples" called Femme Chocolat in order to provide high quality intelligent erotica for the largely underserved market of ethnic women and couples. She is now moving on to the role of mentoring young new female directors so that they may continue the Femme line while expressing their own visions and ideas.

The daughter of an accomplished professional jazz drummer, she trained and performed in music, dance and art, having attended New York's High School of Art and Design, Parsons School of Design, and the City University of New York, where she was active in the women's movement of the late '60's and early '70's. She has been a guest on almost every news and talk show from Anderson Cooper to Dateline NBC, and has been written up in countless magazines and newspapers from The New York Times, Time Magazine and The London Times to Glamour and Marie Claire.

Candida Royalle is a member of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists, (AASECT) and a founding Board member of Feminists for Free Expression (FFE). Her work is distributed by Adam and Eve Pictures.

Sera Beak

Sera Beak, Harvard-trained scholar of world religions and intrepid spiritual cowgirl
has spent the last 12 years traveling the world exploring spirituality – from
whirling with Sufi dervishes to meeting the Dalai Lama on her 21st birthday; from
taking the host from a Croatian Catholic mystic who had the stigmata (truly) to
having life-altering visions with a shaman (and everything in between).

She's synthesized her experience and research into "The Red Book: A Deliciously Unorthodox Approach to Igniting Your Divine Spark" – and has come to one conclusion.

The Universe is bored. The Golden Age of divine booty calls. It's not in the ancient past. It's right now. So the question becomes, how the hell do we wink back?

One answer: by turning red, of course!

Visit www.serabeak.com for her in-person workshops coming up soon in Washington DC, and at Kripalu, as well as her 7 week "Red Intensives" – spiritual coaching sessions (phone + email) where you'll delve deep into the ideas in "The Red Book" to help you ignite your divine spark and invite more "red" into your life. And Sera offers individual sessions as well!

LiYana Silver

Born "out of the box" in an intentional community in New Mexico, LiYana was
raised on liberal doses of critical thinking, self-expression, and interpersonal
relating. During the span of her career from dancer to business consultant; from

irreverently reverent perspectives on relationships, love and sex.

LiYana Silver is the creator and main writer of www.ReDefiningMonogamy.com,
a popular website on the topic. LiYana has been in private practice for the past seven years, coaching and counseling individuals and couples on relationships and wellness. Additionally, LiYana writes a regular column for New York Spirit magazine called "Enlightened Sex in the City,” and has lectured, taught workshops and lead intensive retreats at NASDAQ, the Juilliard School, the School of Visual Arts, St. John's College, Marymount Manhattan, Baruch College, the Atlantic Theatre Company, the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, the Golden Gate School of Feng Shui, the Clear Point Retreat Center, and Montezuma Yoga Retreat Center in Costa Rica.

LiYana received certification as a Holistic Health Counselor from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher through the Yoga Alliance, and a Certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming through NLP Marin. She has taught business coaching to entrepreneurs and small business owners, in private practice and also through the Golden Gate School of Feng Shui in CA and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NY.

Ala Renaissance woman, LiYana was a professional modern dancer for over 10 years in Europe, Israel and New York City, most notably with the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company and the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, and her oil paintings have been displayed upon the gallery walls the likes of Lincoln Center and an East Village tattoo store.

Nestled in with all her impressive credentials, the biggest one of all has been LiYana’s own exquisite relationship — a co-created work of art — with her partner (now fiancée), Nathan, for seven lucky years. This relationship has served as workshop, crucible and launching pad.

LiYana’s vast and varied experiences and trainings have served to clarify that intimate relationships are a powerful vehicle for extraordinary personal growth, and a sacred opportunity to dance with the biggest flirt of all, the divine.

Kassy ShekeloffKassy Shekeloff
Morehouse is a unique experimental community originated in 1968 and known as More University from 1976 to 1996. Morehouse was designed as a lifestyle in which people could love each other, have fun, not do anything they didn't want to do, and serve the world unselfishly and profit by it.

Kassy has been with Morehouse since 1970 when she met Victor Baranco, who presented a woman in orgasm for three hours for the first time in history in 1976. He was also the designer of the Morehouse lifestyle, author of the More Philosophy, and creator of the One No Vote governmental system. Until his death in 2002, Kassy studied intensively with Vic and participated directly with him for 30 years in developing the on-going social research, which is the raw material of Morehouse courses.

The community offers a series of courses that describe and demonstrate their findings in the areas crucial to sustaining pleasurable, enduring relationships such as love, communication, sensuality, man/woman relationships, jealousy, money, possessions, etc. Over the years, many of Vic’s students have taken his material and created their own well-known programs, based upon the information he developed.

A senior teacher, Kassy currently develops and presents advanced courses with a small team, which includes Cindy Baranco, Vic’s widow, who represents the embodiment of his teachings and is furthering them as well as giving them a woman’s voice.
